In recent years, the humble house plant has received much praise, thanks to increased findings on its health benefits. With this in mind, it was only a matter of time before we began filling our homes with them.

While the for house plants is still high, this year we've noticed a shift towards a more exotic variety. In particular, succulents and cacti are taking over in our home interior designprojects.

These small but mighty plants are thick and fleshy and retain water well, so if you're renowned for not taking care of your plants in the past, these low maintenance variety are perfect.

It's definitely a case of the more the merrier. Scatter these throughout your home and get creative with their pots and displays to give them a focal point.

And it you really love them, designers are also incorporating them into their finishing touches. Expect to see everything from wallpapers to cushions and even prints for your walls.

Here's just a few ways you can get creative with succulents in your home.
